World War II
August 8, 1918 - February 2, 1970
James F. Jones, 51, Texas City, formerly of Junction City, died Monday in a Texas City hospital. He was an employee of the Galveston Daily Times and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Junction City. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virginia Desman Jones of Texas City; his mother, Mrs. Blanche O. Nichols of Junction City; two brothers, Alvin E. Jones and Ray G. Jones, both of Junction City; and a sister, Mrs. Aline Thompson, Richland, Wash. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Junction City with the Rev. Harold Cook officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. After 6 p.m. Tuesday, the body will be at the Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City. Pallbearers will be Doyne Jerry, Alvin Green, Wilmer Ratcliff, M. T. Jackson, Fred Laney, and H. E. Pennington. (The El Dorado Times - February 3, 1970)
