June Elizabeth Minnie (Symank) Kidder died August 27 at Marianna Buttes Assisted Living in Loveland, CO. She was 96 years old.
She was born in Ogden, Utah, June 10, 1919, to Hattie (Steinke) and Harry Symank.

The family moved to Denver, Colorado, when June was 9, and she attended West High School. She married Eugene Kidder on March 19, 1936. The couple lived in Seattle, Washington, and eastern Colorado before moving to Ft. Smith, Arkansas in 1945. During WWII June was a riveter at Boeing Aircraft. Later she worked at Hunts Department Store and Fashion and Accessories on the mall. Her real love though was being a traditional homemaker making a warm, attractive home for her family. She was an excellent cook -- no one left her house hungry – and gardener whose favorite hobby was bringing home sickly house plants to nurse back to health. In her later years she was a compassionate caregiver to both her sister and husband. No matter where she lived, she made friends who cherished her interest in them, her loyalty and her sense of fun. June was a Girl Scout leader, active in the PTA and band parent’s organizations, and sponsored a church youth group at Midland Heights Methodist Church. She enjoyed sports, especially swimming, and for many years went to an early morning swim group at the spa. She loved games (still played a mean crib game at 96), shopping for bargains, and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years Gene, her sister Tillie Baker, and her brother Ray Symank.

She is survived by her daughter Susan (Ron Kelton) of Loveland, Colorado, her grandchildren Laura (Patrick Cummings), Larry (Heather), and John (Stacy), and her great grandchildren Anna, Matthew, Brooks, Jillian, and Iris.

Arrangements under the direction of Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith.
