Frederick P. Funda, 83, of Peoria, Ill., died there following a brief illness. He was born Dec. 16, 1889 in New Prague, Minn., and was the son of Paul and Frances Skoedople Funda. A retired professional engineer, he was a veteran of World War I, a member of Winfield United Methodist Church of Little Rock and a life member of the American Railway Engineering Association and Society of Civil Engineers. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and a member of Little Rock Consistory, Scottish Rite and Scimitar Temple Shrine. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Irene Harper Funda, one daughter, Mrs. Ralston H. Deffenbaugh, both of Peoria, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Pauline Crow, Los Angeles, Calif., and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Young's Chapel with Dr. Alvin C. Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Junction City under the direction of Young's. The family will be at the residence of Dr. Rex A. Barrow, 1801 N. Madison. (The El Dorado Times - November 21, 1973)
