Dovie Arneal Hightower age 74 of Junction City passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her home. Dovie was born on March 30, 1942 in Monroe, LA to the late Rae Ethel Gunter Davis and Theron Davis. Dovie was an All Star Basketball player, a member of the 1958 dual state winning girls, basketball team and was a 1960 graduate of Junction City High School. She formerly worked for Union State Bank in Junction City for several years in the late 60's. She later went to work for Great Lakes Chemical as a personnel secretary, serving 25 years with the company before her retirement in 1995. After retirement, Dovie worked several years as a secretary at First Baptist Church in Junction before retiring for good. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her son on Sundays.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gregory Dale Hightower and one brother, Sidney Earl Davis.
Survivors include; her husband of 58 years, Dale Hightower; one son, Jeff Hightower; two grandchildren, Hannah Marsh and (Kyle) and Hunter Hightower and (Chelsea); one great grandson, Wade Wesley Marsh all of Junction City and one sister, Gloria Windsor of Tennessee.
A graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City with Rev. Mary Depper officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
