Frieda Ophelia was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Mary Malinda "Mollie" Stem and Thomas Henson Slusser.
At age 20 Frieda married George Newton Loyd (age 23) on 2 Jan 1927 in Fort Smith, Sebastian, Arkansas. They had 3 daughters; Frieda Louise, Wanda Marie and Georgia Genelle before George died in 1940 at age 37.
On 22 Aug 1948 in Lakewood, Los Angeles County, California she married Everett Fay Weaver.
Frieda Louise (Loyd) Jacobs was born in Fort Smith on Jan. 10, 1928.
Louise passed quietly in her home in Whittier, Calif., on Sunday, July 7, 2013.
Louise had an illustrious career of 44 years in the petroleum industry, where upon retirement, she received a letter of commendation from industry luminary Red Adair.
Louise is survived by her son, Steve Jacobs and daughter-in-law Louise of Chino Hills, Calif.
Louise will be interred next to her father, George Loyd, to rest for eternity at Oak Valley Cemetery in Lavaca under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
Memorial service will be held at Grand Avenue Baptist Church at noon Saturday, November 1, 2013 with reception to immediately follow.
