*Obituary

Bevelyn Hearn, 64, of Lavaca died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in Fort Smith.
She was born October 18, 1949 In Charleston, Arkansas to the late Kenneth Douglas and Dorothy (Hooper) Douglas. She was 64 years old.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lynda Gayle Brown and one brother, Lowell Douglas.

Bevelyn was a retired house keeping supervisor at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. In her earlier years in life, she was a homemaker and a beautician, and was a cook at the Lavaca Senior Citizen Center. Bevelyn was a 1969 graduate of Lavaca High School and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Central City.

Mom was a servant. She served her kids and always made sure we did not do without the little things, spending her last penny if necessary. This was also true with her grandkids who were her pride and joy. She served her Savior as a preschool Sunday school teacher. From the kitchen of Lavaca SRCA to the patient rooms of St. Edward Mercy, she served her community with the work of her hands. As a compass, she served her pastor when those in the church or community would be hospitalized. Those who served her as caregivers in her last days, she considered friends. We rise up and call her blessed.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14th, at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, with the Rev. Russ Tyler officiating. Burial will be at Oak Valley Cemetery, located south of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

She is survived by two daughters, Derenda Smith and husband Jason of Fort Smith and Miranda House and husband Adam of Van Buren; one son, Clyfton Hearn and wife Tonya of Lavaca; three sisters, Kay Strozier and husband Ruben of Greenwood, Donna Douglas of Lavaca, and Kendra Fulmer and husband Kim of Lavaca; one brother, Dane Douglas and wife Tina of Lavaca; five grandchildren, Taylee and Cayden Hearn, Zoey and Simon Smith, and Lilly House.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Douglas, Herschel Douglas, Brian Douglas, Robert Biggerstaff, Tim Mounts, and Kenny Hobbs.
