Mr. Jimmie Pickle of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Monday, January 19, 2015 in a Fort Smith hospital. Mr. Pickle was 90 years old.
Mr. Pickle was a retired employee of Auto Parts & Tire and Donnie Leonard Candy Company. He was a member of Massard Missionary Baptist Church, and a veteran of the United States ARMY and a World War II veteran; having earned The Purple Heart Medal and two Bronze Stars.
Mr. Pickle was preceded in death by his wife: Lucille Pickle; his parents; 1 granddaughter: Melissa Kaye Durham, and 1 son–in-law: Tracy Durham.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Karen Durham of Charleston, Arkansas, Kathy Leonard and her husband: Donnie and Melita Barnes and her husband: Woody, all from Fort Smith, Arkansas; 1 son: Michael Pickle and his wife Sherry of Vian, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Hattie Lou Vann of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 7 terrific grandchildren: Bill Durham and his wife: Angela, Stuart Leonard and his wife: Monica, Derick Pickle and his wife: Ryan, Brooklin Haney and her husband: Chris, Rachel Barnes, and Jared Barnes and his wife Chelsie; 9 precious great-grandchildren: Kristin and Preston Durham, Easton, Hayden, Maggie, Emily and Evan Leonard, and Jake and Cohen Pickle; his special friend: Audrey Edwards; other relatives; and many dear friends.
Funeral service were held on Friday afternoon, January 23, 2015, at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, Arkansas. He was laid to rest at Dawson Cemetery in Milltown, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were his grandsons and great-grandsons.
