Owen W. Jackson, 79, of Junction City, died Sunday night in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a retired Timber Contractor and a former mayor of Junction City. Mr. Jackson was a member of First Baptist Church of Junction City. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Price Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Brumley of Malvern, Mrs. Helen Rauls of Gainesville, Tex., and Mrs. Ruby Quinn of Pine Bluff; one son, Harry Jackson of Lakeside, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Junction City with the Rev. Harold Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mr. Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of the First Baptist Church. The body was taken to Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City at 7 p.m. Monday. (El Dorado Times - May 7, 1968)
