Mrs. Lillie Pearl Kirby, 93, of 821 E. 4th St., died at a local nursing home Sunday night after a long illness. Mrs. Kirby was born near Summerfield, La., Dec. 20, 1870, the daughter of Wylie and Jessie Smith Wasson. She was the widow of A. P. Kirby, a member of the First Baptist Church and had lived in El Dorado for the past 25 years. Survivors include a great nephew, Paul Carter of El Dorado; a great niece, Mrs. Mary McDuff of Shreveport, La.; and six nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Horace J. Dunn officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery at Junction City under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers were Durwood Jones, Joe Rhodes, W. O. Dearman, Herman Townsend, Guy Henderson, and John Tissue. (El Dorado Times - June 9, 1964)
