September 23, 1933 - December 19, 2013

Jerry Schaer Glover, age 80 a long time resident of Junction City, Arkansas passed away Thursday December 19, 2013 at his home after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

He was born on September 23, 1933 in Sealy, Texas and was the son of George Glover and Billie Thompson. He moved to Junction City, Arkansas where he was raised on the family farm and attended Junction City Schools. He fell in love with childhood sweetheart, Patricia Ann (Slaughter) Glover, and they were married for over 40 years until she passed away in 1997. He is now with her for eternity.

Jerry was the proud owner and founder of Glover Custom Wood. His sons took over the family business in 1997. As his business reflected, he was a very talented craftsman. God gave him the ability to build anything, and Jerry enthusiastically used that talent to tackle many challenging projects throughout his lifetime. He had many woodworking projects including custom cabinets, grandfather clocks and wagon wheel lights. During his active years he built his family home, engineered many pieces of machinery, and built a custom motor home.

Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church in Junction City. He was known for being a kindhearted man who enjoyed helping others, never turning a soul away. During his battle with the illness, he became agitated and frustrated at times but he remained positive and appreciative towards his family and his caregivers and developed special sense of humor about many things.

Survivors include his 4 children and 4 grandchildren: Mary K. Glover of Houston, TX; George Glover, wife Theresa and children, Katie, Jerry Wayne and Emily of Junction City, LA; Greg Glover of El Dorado, AR and Cynthia Johnson and daughter, Madison of Bentonville, AR.

Visitation with the family will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City, AR. There will also be a viewing Sunday morning from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at First Baptist Church of Junction City, AR with Pastor Milton Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robby Hanry, Jamie Caldwell, James Bounds, Charlie Hogue, Jeff Mason and Jeff Orr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Arnold Jones and Melvin Smith.

God blessed us all with his influence in our lives and he will be deeply missed as a loving father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. A special thanks to all of his caregivers and friends during his illness. In Jerry's memory, donation maybe made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Rd, El Dorado, AR 71730 or to the Roselawn Cemetery, c/o Peggy Williams, P.O. Box 97 Junction City, AR 71749 or donor's choice.
