Nancy E. (Pickering) George, age 82 of Carthage, AR, formerly of El Dorado, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on June 29, 1931 in El Dorado to the late John Pinson Pickering and Nancy Elizabeth (Goodwin) Pickering. Nancy was a retired LPN and formerly worked in home health services while living in Texas. Nancy was an excellent seamstress and especially enjoyed quilting. Nancy loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed all the good times spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Thomas Lloyd George; two brothers, Gwyn Pickering and Felix Pickering; three sisters, Margaret Gathright, Lucy Willett and Lena Rae Purifoy.
Those left to cherish her memory include; her husband of 58 years, Lloyd George of Carthage, formerly of Junction City; two daughters, Janie Pipes and husband John of Carthage, Angela Willeby and husband Robert of Katy, TX; two sons, Casey George and wife Jennifer of Dayton, TX, Don George and wife Tami of Simonton, TX; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Claudia Lucas of Crossett and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Inmon officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn cemetery in Junction City under the direction of Bailey funeral Home of El Dorado/Junction City.
