John Edward Fredriksen, 71, of 3504 E. Main St., died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 5. 1897, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of George M and Severena Johnson Fredriksen. He had been a resident of El Dorado since 1924 and was a retired office manager for American Oil Co. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gladys Williams Fredriksen, El Dorado; his father, George Fredriksen, Sr., Stuart, Fla.; and a brother, George Fredriksen, Jr., Stuart. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Mann officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Gene Keeton, Charles Robertson, W. K. Gibbs, Earl Bennett, W. S. Pierce and Bill Kimes. (El Dorado Times - November 21, 1969)
