Mrs. Pamela (Janell) Townsend, age 55, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away and went to be with Jesus on Thursday, December 9, 2021. She was born July 19, 1966, in Springfield, Missouri to Jerry and Nancy Ward. She grew up in the Boliver, Missouri area. She met James Howard Townsend, Jr. (Jamie) in 1983 when he asked her (through a friend) to dance and she responded, “if he wants to dance, he can ask me himself!” Jamie and Janell wed on August 19, 1983 (married 38 years). In 1989, Jamie and Janell welcomed Meghan Nicole Townsend (Meghan Burns) to their family. In 1990, Carri Hannah Townsend made it a family of four; and in 2001, the family became complete when Jonathan Luke Townsend, Mark Landon Townsend, and Hayden Matthew Townsend joined the family making it a party of seven. Janell loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart, and everyone she met was “family”. She was always the first to help someone in need as she truly had a servant’s heart. Janell frequently taught Children’s Sunday School and loved singing children’s hymns with them on Sundays. She loved to laugh and hated to cry.
Janell was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Mary Lawson, and mother, Nancy Ward. Janell is survived by her husband, James Howard Townsend, Jr. (Jamie) of Rogers, Arkansas; daughters, Carri Townsend of Rogers, Arkansas, and Meghan Burns of Dallas, Texas; sons, Luke Townsend (along with wife, Kirsten Townsend), Mark Townsend, and Hayden Townsend all of Rogers, Arkansas; grandchildren, Dakota DeGonia and Elicia DeGonia of Carl Junction, Missouri; Hudson Townsend and Ava Townsend of Rogers, Arkansas; father, Jerry Ward of Ozark, Missouri; sister, Becky Burke of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and brother, Richard Ward of Springfield, Missouri; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers: Luke Townsend, Mark Townsend, Hayden Townsend, Dakota DeGonia, and Ron DeGonia
Visitation for Janell will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Rollins Funeral Home, 1401 W. Hudson Road, Rogers, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021, at Rollins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pace Cemetery (for family only). Arrangements by Rollins Funeral Home, Rogers, Arkansas.
