Christine Evers, 84 of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Timberlane Health and Rehabilitation. She was born June 20, 1928 to George W. and Altia Hinson Sawyer in El Dorado, AR.
She was a charter member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a teletype operator for Lion Oil and was a secretary for the superintendent of Parkers Chapel School District.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ray Evers; and grandson, Cody Martindale.

Survivors include her son, Randy Evers (Emily); daughter, Marsha Martindale (Dennis) both of El Dorado; four grandchildren, Clint Evers (Keeley) of El Dorado, Carrie Johnson (Phillip) of Rogers, AR, Lauri Fruge’ (Milton) of El Dorado, Lindsey Griffin (Lane) of El Dorado; and seven great grandchildren, Halley Evers, Clay Evers, Reece Griffin, Kyla Griffin, Austin Fruge’, Aiden Fruge’, Anna Grace Fruge’ all of El Dorado.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, at Young’s.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Danny McIlveene officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
