Elizabeth Stangenberg, 95, of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Courtyard Nursing & Rehabilitation.
She was born January 9, 1922 in Alexandria, LA to Thomas Clyde Dawkins and Josephine Lily Wear Dawkins. Before retiring Elizabeth worked as a secretary for Ramo-Wooldridge Corp. and was a member of Mt. Union Baptist Church. She was a true southern lady.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Richard Paul Stangenberg and her sisters, Grace Patterson, Constance Dawkins and Josephine Sandifer.

Survivors include her step-daughter, Robin McCabe of Bremerton, WA; a niece, Mary Lee Hilburn (Tom) of El Dorado, AR; great nephews, Thomas HiIlburn, Jr. (Goldie), Chuck Hilburn (Jennifer) & Leo of El Dorado and great niece, Lesalee Chilcote (Tim) of Magnet Cove, AR; one great nephew, Thomas Sandifer (Elizabeth) & one great niece, Tiffany Sandifer of Shreveport, LA.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Young’s Chapel with Rev. John Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service Saturday in Young’s Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Union Baptist Church, 653 Mt. Union Rd., El Dorado, AR 71730.
