Dr. John Francis Bridgman, age 79, of Clarksville, Arkansas died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Johnson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 6, 1925, in Kuling, China, to Harold Thomas and Eleanor May Galbraith Bridgman. He was a colleger professor, and educational missionary teacher in Japan for more that 18 years, and Air Force Veteran of World War II and a member of the Gideon's.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Bridgman of the home; two sons, John Bridgman Jr. of Austin, TX, and Paul Bridgman of Sanyo-Cho, Okayama-Ken, Japan; two daughters, Alice Broncheff and Nancy Martin, both of Conway, AR; three brothers, Dr. Albert Bridgman of Black Mountain , North Carolina, the Reverend David Bridgman of Orlando, FL, and the Reverend Stewart Bridgman of Staunton, VA; a sister, Eleanor Monteith of Charlotte, North Carolina; and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Arthur Bridgman and Harold Bridgman Jr.

A memorial service will be 4:00 P.M. Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Clarksville with the Reverends Bill Allen and Stewart G. Bridgman officiating. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the T.E.A.M. Mission, Gideon's or foreign missions.

Beverly Alice May Bridgman, age 90, passed from this life to her heavenly home on July 9, 2022. Beverly was the daughter of Mr. George Elmer May and Grace Alice Granzin May. She was born on March 24, 1932 and raised in New Orleans Louisiana. Beverly met John F. Bridgman (Jack) while in college at LSU and they were married on June 3, 1952. She faithfully served alongside her husband as a missionary in Japan for 18 years, where their 4 children were born. In 1972, they returned to make their home in Clarksville, AR. Beverly spent much of her time in Clarksville teaching and leading women's bible studies through her church and Bible Study Fellowship, as well as teaching Sunday school to children. Beverly and her husband enjoyed sailing in the area lakes in AR and traveling to many interesting places together. After the death of her husband, Beverly moved to Conway, AR to live at College Square Retirement Community.

Beverly is preceded in death by: her parents, George Elmer May and Grace Alice Granzin May, her brothers George Elmer May Jr. and John Eric May and her husband John Francis Bridgman Sr.

She is survived by her four children: John F. Bridgman Jr. and wife Jane, Paul L. Bridgman and wife Violette, Alice E. Bridgman Boncheff and husband Stacy, and Nancy G. Bridgman Martin and husband William. Beverly had seven grandchildren: John F. Bridgman III, Jeffrey P. Bridgman, Kevin S. Bridgman, Ryan A. Boncheff, Krista M. Boncheff, Myles C. Martin and Chloe F. Martin, and five great grandchildren: Bethany Bridgman, Shannon Bridgman, Samuel Bridgman, Benjamin Boncheff and Luke Boncheff.

A Memorial service to celebrate Beverly's life will be held on Saturday July 30, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
