Henry W. Dumas, Jr., 52, of Rt. 5, El Dorado, died late Tuesday night in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born April 17, 1917, in El Dorado, he was the son of Henry W. Dumas, Sr. and Sally Mooty Dumas. A veteran of World War II, he was an employe of American Oil Co. Mr. Dumas was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norphlet. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Louise Couch Dumas, of El Dorado; two sons, Gary Wayne Dumas of El Dorado, and William Earl Dumas of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie McDowell and Mrs. Ila Poindexter, both of El Dorado; five brothers, K. T. Dumas, of Norphlet, R. L. Dumas, Rodell Dumas, and Eddie Lee Dumas, all of El Dorado, and Leonard Dumas of Junction City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Norphlet with the Rev. Henry Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. (The El Dorado Times - January 14, 1970)
