1830 - December 17, 1901
M. Kagen died at his residence in this city last week at the age of 70 years. He was a native of Germany, but lived in this county for many years. During the civil war he served in the Federal Army. Mr. Kagen was a son-in-law of Mrs. Mary A. Gasser, who died about a month ago at the age of 101 years. His funeral took place from the German Catholic Church, Father Pius officiating.

Theresa Kagan, a resident of Fort Smith for more than thirty years, died Monday at her home in the eastern part of the city, aged 54 years. Her remains were buried Tuesday in the Catholic Cemetery, Father Thomas officiating.
