Pearlene Thompson Purifoy was born May 19, 1929 to the union of Roberta and Henry Thompson, Sr.

After a lengthy illness, she departed this life on October 12, 2011 at Ouachita County Medical Center.

She accepted the Lord at an early age, where she united with her childhood church, she later united with the Mt Zion AME Church, where she served diligently, wherever she was needed. She later united with the Church of Christ of Camden, AR, where she served until her health began to fail. She served in the Missionary Society, Sunday School, or wherever she was needed. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who loved to cook and sew.

She was united in holy matrimony and to this union four sons were born. She is survived by a devoted husband, four sons, two daughter-in-laws, two sisters, one brother, also 10 grandchildren, 18 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta and Henry Thompson, Sr., two brothers, Roosevelt Thompson, Henry Thompson, Jr. and one sister Evelyn Thompson Green.

Her funeral was held Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00 am at Church of Christ, 347 Madison St. N.E. Camden, AR. Bro. Lonnell Herron, Sr. officiated. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hwy 278 West (#4), Camden, AR
