Mrs. Barbara Wiggins Battles, 65, of Monticello died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Battles was a native of Warren and she graduated from Warren High School in 1959. She was a resident of Monticello since 1977 and a former resident of Warren for many years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is preceded in death by her father, Roy S. Wiggins. She is survived by her husband, B.J. Battles of Monticello; two daughters, Penny Gwin and husband, Steven, of Fountain Hill and Debbie Whitley and husband, Shohn, of Kannapolis, N.C.; her mother, Maudie Wiggins of Warren; a brother, Steve Wiggins of Hampton; three sisters, Nancy Sewell of Grand Prairie, TX, Beulah Ables of Hampton and Sandra Frye of Warren; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services and burial are 2 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2007 in the Flat Creek Cemetery with Rev. Craig Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
