Hugh Monroe Wilson, age 84 of Stephens, AR was born September 10, 1925 and passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at his home. He was in the Commerical Egg Business and an Oil Field Technician. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII (20th Armor Division). He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene since 1951.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis M. and Martha “Katie” Jeffus Wilson; wife, Mary Lucille Nix Wilson; brother, Frank C. Wilson; precious sister, Aileen Wilson Parker; brother, Ray Wilson; and grandson, Nickolas Gulledge.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Mae McKoin Wilson of Stephens, AR; daughters, Phyllis Gulledge and husband, Edward of Dallas, TX, Regina Tatum and husband, Bill of McDonough, GA and Renon Wilson of Dallas, TX; brother, Jay Wilson of Texarkana, TX; sister, Martha Lee Smith of Hurst, TX; grandsons, David Gulledge of Forney, TX and Stephen Gulledge of Dallas, TX; and four great grandchildren.
He was a fine Christian gentleman who loved his family dearly, especially his three girls. His special grandson, David, was his best pal and companion for the long walks through the woods and story telling time. Now he is at home in heaven with the love of his life, Mary Lucille.
Our special thank you to Martha and Jessica of Home Health Care. To the hospice caregivers, and especially Ginger Mills who helped us through his final hours on earth. To Joanie and Phillip ~ thank you for always being there for Hugh Monroe.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a. m. Monday, August 02, 2010 at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
