Fred J. Goebel Sr., 92, of Fort Smith passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, in Fort Smith. He was a retired retail grocer for Yutterman's Market and a farmer. He was a member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by a son, Frank J. Goebel; and a sister, Lorene Yutterman.

Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. today at Fentress Mortuary Chapel. Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fort Smith. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Melina of the home; two daughters, Mary Goebel and Lorena Goebel, both of Fort Smith; two sons, Fred Goebel Jr. and Charles Goebel, both of Fort Smith; one sister, Emily "Babe" Donelson of Fort Smith; one niece, Charlene Moorman; one nephew, Kruger W. Donelson of Fort Smith. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ms. Melina Mae Goebel of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died in her home on Monday, September 29, 2008, at the age of 94 years. She was the daughter of the late John L. and Maude Yutterman. Ms. Goebel was a homemaker; a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church; and a member of the UCT Canasta Club.
Ms. Goebel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 years: Fred J. Goebel Sr.; a son: Frank John Goebel; a sister: Frances Merriman; and three brothers: John D. Yutterman, James Yutterman, and Charles Yutterman.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Goebel and Lorena Goebel; two sons: Fred J. Goebel Jr. and his wife: Ann, and Charles W. Goebel; daughter-in-law: Roma Goebel; 12 precious grandchildren; 19 wonderful great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Emily Babe" Donelson; a nephew: Kruger Donelson and his wife: Arleen; a niece: Charlene Moorman; and many dear friends.
Rosary was cited on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 3, 2008, at St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were her grandsons: Gene Berry, Paul Goebel, Steven Goebel, Craig Goebel, Mark Goebel, and Dayton Wolff.
