June 2, 1930 - December 6, 2016
Obie O. Petty, age 86, died on December 6, 2016 at Noble Horizons Nursing Home in Salisbury, Ct. She was born in Hermitage, AR and lived in Camden most of her life. She loved the south, but was happy to be living with her daughter, Brenda DeBonis and son, Jerry Maloney in NY until she moved into Noble Horizons, where she was dearly appreciated for her one-of-a-kind personality.
Obie married Earl Petty on April 19, 1952; he predeceased her on Dec. 18, 2005. He was the love of her life.
Obie is survived by her daughter, Brenda DeBonis, Al Debonis, son-in-law; son, Jerry Maloney, ten grandchildren, Jimmy Earl Woodral, Albert L. Woodral, Bobbi Jean Thompson, Omar Kapple, Joshua DeBonis, and Anthony DeBonis, Renee Fontenot, Reginna Zenos, Shannon Maloney, and Katie McClintock, as well as many great-grandchildren, four granddaughters-in-law, Rhonda and Donna Woodral, Shayna Kapple, Amanda DeBonis; and two sisters-in-law, Nell Tate and Helen Petty and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Obie will be on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden. The service will be officiated by Brother Richard Merritt.
Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery immediately following the ceremony. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
