Elsie Mae Hoyle Clennon of Fort Smith passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015.
She was born March 17, 1922 in Pasadena, California to Stewart E. Hoyle and Rachel S. (Hiatt) Hoyle, the first of 4 children.
During the Depression they returned to family in Kansas and then moved on to Cabool, Mo. Together with her husband, brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Bernice Clennon they owned and operated the Echo Club in West Plains, MO for a number of years. After being an AVON lady for several years she was hired as an AVON manager, based out of Fort Smith. She retired from AVON in 1984. She was the keyboard player for "The Goodtime Girls" until health issues in 2008. She loved the "gigs" and the girls in the band and Donnie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lawrence and Robert Hoyle and sister, Lois Hoyle Larsen, her infant daughter, her husband of 54 years, Byron Clennon, son Michael S. Clennon, granddaughter, Shiloh Marie and great granddaughter Leslie Farvour.
Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Monday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Elsie is survived by her daughter Sherry J. Clennon of Clarksdale, MS, son Jim (Carolyn) Clennon of Saratoga, WY daughter Billie (Gus) Mnich of Park Hill, OK, grandchildren Mark (Tina) Thomas, Teresa (Vance) Hayes, Carrie (Chris) Infinger, Bart Clennon, Rachel (Gilbert) Tamez, Christopher Mitcham, Jennifer (Joe) Farvour and Jeremiah (Susie) Clennon and great grandchildren Tyler Hayes, Gregory Infinger, Byron Anderson, Trey and Bahlor Tamez, Savannah Mitcham, Maddie and Parker Clennon and Matt and Mike Thomas.
