LOWELL — Donald Ray Turner, 76, of Lowell passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1940, in Houston, Texas, to Daniel and Clarice Bundick Turner.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; worked as a deckhand on a tugboat for Parker Brothers for 22 years. He brought joy and always had a good word for anyone he met; loved the ocean and loved woodworking.
He is survived by a daughter, Jean Generau of Lowell.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Beard's Chapel with Michael Cooper officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Beard's Chapel.
In lieu of flowers to remember Don, donations may be made to the City of Lowell Senior Center in his name.
