DeKALB, Texas—Julianne Burkett Lipe, 95, of DeKalb died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Lipe was born Oct. 13, 1923, in White County, Ark. She was a retired parts department upervisor for a John Deere tractor distributor and a member of DeKalb Oktoberfest Committee, Order of the Eastern Star, the Amazing Grays and First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Hulan G. Burkett and Gordon Lipe; and one daughter, Martha Ann Burkett.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Burkett Belcher of Bogata, Texas, and Myra Burkett Loving of Texarkana, Texas; one former son-in-law, Jeff Loving of Texarkana; one sister-in-law, Martha Sowell of Little Rock, Ark.; one brother-in-law, Gene Angel of Searcy, Ark.; three grandchildren, Matt Belcher and Brooke Franks of Bogata, Texas, and Ashley Goodman of Texarkana; one special friend, Juanita Moore of DeKalb; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates and the Rev. James Sparks officiating. Burial will be 4 p.m. in Gum Springs Cemetery, Searcy, Ark.
