Obituary:
Mrs. Phyllis Heatherly Clements of Dallas, Texas departed this life at her home on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the age of 81. She was born June 8, 1935, in Paradise, Arkansas, the daughter of Ezra Phil Heatherly and Lavada Marks Heatherly.
Mrs. Clements graduated from high school in Newport. She later attended Meramec School of Nursing where she earned her degree as a registered nurse, where she graduated first in her class.
Mr. Dale Clements and Miss Phyllis June Heatherly married in St. Louis, Missouri on June 11, 1955. Together they enjoyed 61 years of marriage, raised two daughters, and enjoyed 5 grandchildren.
Mrs. Clements was an avid reader and enjoyed playing tennis. She was always helping others. Her greatest love was her family and she especially delighted in her grandchildren, she was a “Grandmother extraordinaire.” This beautiful, intelligent, sassy wife, mother, grandmother, and sister will be sorely missed and forever remembered for her love of family.
Her parents and one brother, Richard Heatherly, preceded Mrs. Clements in death.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Clements, of the home; two daughters, Kimberly Wool and Joni Clements Watson both of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Phillip Wool, Joshua Wool, Victoria Watson, Taylor Watson, and Olivia Watson; one great-granddaughter, Arel Wool, to arrive in December; two brothers, Jimmy Heatherly and wife, Shirley, of Newport and Bobby Heatherly and wife, Laura, of Nashville, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, September 3, 2016, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Remmel-McCall Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Phillip Wool, Joshua Wool, Taylor Watson, Jimmy Heatherly, Cledy Pollard, and Casey Lofton.
