Susan Elaine (Boyles) Hooten, 57, of Searcy, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at the St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. She was born July 31, 1963 in Searcy to the late Ralph Nelson Boyles and Francis Jane (Williams) Lasley. Susan was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and the manager of the ASU Bookstore before she retired. She was very talented and could do many things with her arts and crafts, so much so that she opened her own store called Susan’s Simple Treasures. There she was able to share her crafts and creativity.
She is survived by her husband, Teddy Hooten; daughter, Cassie Cooley and husband Will; grandchildren, Noah Cooley, Samantha Brewer, Zackery Brewer, Emily Hudson, Cloe Hudson and Olivia Hudson; siblings, Bobby Boyles and wife Sandra and Rebecca Bonner and husband Louis; Papa, Richard Lasley and wife Karen; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Francis; and a brother, Bill Boyles.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18 at the church with interment to follow in the Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net
