George Anders, 84, of Alma, AR passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in a local nursing home.
George was born December 22, 1935 in Coy, AR to the late Johnny and Lois (Martindale) Anders.

He was a truck driver for HJ Baker, member of the Alma United Methodist Church, Fine Springs Masonic Lodge #439, Alma Masonic Lodge #735, past Worshipful Master, member of Scottish Rites of Fort Smith and Santa Fe, NM and the Mulberry American Legion Post #42.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby and a son James Anders.

Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Shackleford and husband Mark of Hackett; son, Steven Anders and wife Angela of Alma; daughter-in-law, Beatrice Anders of Alma; grandchildren, Chris Anders, Kayla Marcotte, Jamie Whitman, Brandon Shackleford, Jessica Anders, Derek Weinsinger and Dustin Croff; great grandchildren, Evan Parker Whitman, Sinye Raleigh Whitman, Brighton Whitman, Kay Marcotte, Brooklyn Weinsinger, Sawyer Paige Weinsinger, Karl Marcotte, Garrison Marcotte and Holden Whitman; sisters, Velma Garrett of Pensacola, FL and Katherine Newby of London, AR and brothers, Walters Anders of Centerville and David Anders of Russelleville.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Shackleford, Nick Marcotte, Anthony Whitman, Dillion Key, Derek Weinsinger and Dustin Croff.

Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 6, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. The service will be livestreamed on the Ocker-Putman Facebook page.
Viewing will be from 12:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy 64 E., Alma, AR.

Ruby Mae Anders, 76, of Alma passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, in her home.

She retired from nursing, having worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and Espanola Hospital in New Mexico and was a member of Alma United Methodist Church.

She was born April 12, 1941, in Santa Fe, N.M., to the late Truman J. and Gertrude (Priebe) Brigham and was also preceded in death by a son, James Anders.

Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ocker Chapel in Alma with interment at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.

Survivors include her husband, George F. Anders of the home; one daughter, Rhonda Shackelford and husband Mark of Hackett; one son, Steven Anders and wife Angela of Alma; one brother, Troy Brigham of Espanola, N.M.; daughter-in-law, Beatrice Anders of Alma; grandchildren, Chris Anders, Jamie Whitman, Kayla Marcotte, Brandon Shackelford and Jessica Anders; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Shackelford, Anthony Whittman, Nicolas Marcotte, Derek Weinsinger, Chris Croff and Darrel Mattingly.
