Ruby
July 7, 1929 - May 23, 2017

Ruby G. Graham peacefully went to be with her Lord on May 23rd 2017, at her Russellville home. In her last days, she was visited often and was surrounded by family and friends. Ruby, the youngest daughter of Frank Shuger and Carrie Williams was born on July 7th 1929 in Wilton Junction, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister's Marie, Francis and her brother George, three of her children, Timothy Francis, Michael Joseph and Anthony Edward, son-in-law Dennis Casida, grandchild Todd Venette and great grandchild (Braydon Casida).

Ruby grew up in both Iowa and Colorado and enjoyed her experience farming and in living in the city. Ruby fell in love and married James B. Graham Jr. in Denver on August 23rd 1947 while he was stationed at Lowery Air Force Base. After Jim left the military, they established a residence in Boulder, Colorado where they attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and their children attended the school there. Ruby bore 10 beautiful and loved children. Ruby loved to cook and taught her daughters how to make many delightful dishes including homemade breads, cookies and donuts. She loved to can peaches and made the best peach butter preserves on this earth. Ruby was a wife, mom and homemaker.

She was devoted to her children and allowed them space to explore and try new things. She drove the kids to scouts, football, basketball practices, countless get-togethers and parties. She loved to decorate the house during the holidays and make Halloween costumes. In 1974, the Graham family moved to Russellville and Ruby had a chance to learn southern cooking. She also loved that people are so friendly here and would wave at you when you drove down the street. Ruby loved the Lord with all her heart and experienced much joy as she increased her knowledge of God and His word. She loved reading books on the subject and watching evangelists on TV. Later in life she began attending Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. One of Ruby's passions was helping to establish the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Russellville which offered counseling services with a focus on keeping your baby or adoption alternatives.

She is survived by her husband James B. Graham Jr., children, Debby A. Casida, Linda and Lynn Trahern, Christine L Graham, Daniel and Susie Graham, Philip and Sandra Graham, Therese' R. Graham, and James B. (III) and Lorri Graham. She is survived by 17 grandchildren Chad, Gina, Patrick, Andrea, Carrie, Maegan, Elizabeth, Sharlie, Jessica, Sarah, Bucky, Blair, Rachel, Tony, Rachel, Ryan, Nicholas and 17 great grandchildren. A very special thank you from the Graham family to Ruby's caregivers, Debbie, Tiffany and Nicole. Services will be handled through the Alliance Church and Humphrey Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers the family on behalf of Ruby would appreciate a donation made to Choices Pregnancy Resource Clinic of Russellville.
