August 16, 1925 - February 13, 2014

Charles William Bishop entered Heaven Thursday, February 14, 2014. He was born to George and Ivey Bishop in Swifton Arkansas.

Chuck was reared in Swifton, graduating from Swifton High School. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1948.

May 14th. 1949, he married Velma Jean Turner, their 65 years of marriage was filled with love and unity.

In 1953 he graduated from the University of Arkansas-School of Pharmacy. From 1954 to 1971 he worked as a pharmaceutical salesman for Parke David Drug Co.

In 1971 he moved to Dover Ark. and worked as a self employed pharmacist and owner of the Dover Pharmacy from 1971 to 1997. From 1998 to 2014 he continued to work part time as a pharmacist at Cobb Drug Store in Ola, Ark. and Rose Drug Store in Danville, Ark. He was a lifelong member of the Arkansas State Pharmacy Association.

He loved the sport of football and basketball. He was a lifelong fan and active supporter of the University of Arkansas sports program and the U. of A. School of Pharmacy. He was a member of the Dover Lion's club, member of the Dover School Board and with the Dover School system. He was a member of the Dover First Methodist Church, He loved the Lord.

Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years Velma Jean, a sister; Della Canard of Coal Hill Ark.; three sons; Charles William Bishop Jr. of Dover, David Wayne & wife Deanna Bishop of Delaware, Ark.; Robert Glenn & wife Kim of Fayetteville, Ark.; two daughters; Rebecca Jo & husband Jay Featherston of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Laura Jean Bishop of Dover Ark.; Six grandchildren; Two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father George E. Bishop; and mother Ivey Bishop; three sisters; Melba Pridmore, Goldie Floyd, Dovie Garrison.
