SPRINGDALE — W. William Carson Jr, of Springdale died June 4, 2004, at The Village Inc. He retired to The Village Inc., moving from Salisbury, N.C. He was an Army Signal Corps veteran of World War II. He was active in the AARP tax program and was its local coordinator in Springdale. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Springdale, serving as lay reader, treasurer, member of the executive board, usher and reading room librarian.

He is survived by his wife, Betty William Carson.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist Springdale or The Village Inc.

Burial was in National Cemetery at Fayetteville.

Arrangements are by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory, Fayetteville.

SPRINGDALE — Betty S. Carson, 87, of Springdale died Jan. 12, 2007, at Springdale. She was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Omaha, Neb., to Oscar Nolan and Edith Bixby Smith. She was a secretary for Hershey Chocolate Co. and a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Carson.

Private burial will be in National Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Arrangements are by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
