He was a WWII and Korean Veteran. He served in the Marine Corps as a Corporal. He was born October 20, 1928. He passed away on May 19, 2011. He was married to his wife Mary Etta Sharp for nearly 61 years upon his passing. They were the very best of friends , still held hands and snuggled nightly. They were an incredible example to us all.

He spent his time with us sharing his love, faith, and devotion with his many family and friends. Among his many accomplishments, he was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp and served his country during World War II. He was a telephone cable splicer, engineer, manager, and foreman for over 41 years. He was a greenhouse supervisor for the mentally and physically challenged. He has been a member of the American Legion and Master Gardeners. In addition, he was a Christian Youth Minister, Elder at Boulder Avenue Christian Church, Volunteer Fireman, Boy Scout Master, and City Council Member of Crocker, Missouri.

Mary
April 24, 1932 - January 11, 2013

Mary Etta Sharp, of Russellville, born April 24, 1932 in Crocker, Missouri went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 11, 2013. Daughter of John G Boehm and Lela V Pummill Brumley.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Lee Moore of Hot Springs; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Lynn Sharp of Dover, and Ken and Lisa Sharp of Russellville; six grandchildren and their spouses, Andrea and Dennis Erwin of Conway, David and Christina Sharp of Harrisburg, Missouri, Chris and Tosha Sharp of Dover, Shane and Done'e Sharp of Russellville, Amanda Moore of Hot Springs, and Tyler Sharp of Russellville, as well as 11 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving spouse and soul mate, William C. "Bill" Sharp, mother Lela Viola Pummill Brumley, and three great-grandchildren, William, Ryleigh and Thomas Erwin.

Mary would say her greatest accomplishment was her very close and loving family. She dedicated her time to learning to be the best cook she could possibly be becoming infamous for her freshly baked cookies, pies and rolls. She was a homeroom mother as well as a Brownie and Cub Scout Den Mother. She was an active member of her church, the most current being Boulder Avenue Christian Church of Russellville. She ensured that her family knew what a loving and gracious Creator we have. In her downtime, Mary enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and was an avid oil and ceramic painter.

Mary's family would say her greatest accomplishment was her relationship with God. Mary was a woman of strength. She walked sure footedly knowing that God would catch her should she fall. She unwaveringly showed courage in the midst of any fear. Her soft cheeks and hands were reminiscent of God's grace. She steadfastly gave the best of her to everyone. Her personal prayer was: "Lord, let us all be strong women for you." and surely she was.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, from 5-6:30 pm, at Shinn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 am on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gary Newport and the Rev. Mike Jones . Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Shane Sharp, Tyler Sharp, Dennis Erwin, Chris Sharp, David Sharp and Roger Love. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Matthew Self, TJ Dover, Dee Doyle and Lee Moore.
