Ione B. Whiteman, of Van Buren died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, in a local hospital. She was born August 17, 1910, in Tecumeseh, Oklahoma. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneer Club. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Whiteman, and daughter, Charlene Martindale Rankin, both parents, John, John and Maudie Chewing Williams, brothers, Roy, Guy and Ben Williams, and a grandson, Lee Martindale. She retired from Bell Telephone Company. She loved to fish and garden and was a big Dallas Cowboy fan.

Graveside service was held at noon Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Gracelawn Cemetery Arbor with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, two nieces, one nephew, two grandsons, and granddaughter-in-law, and great grandchildren.
