Charles Andrew “Bud” Phipps of Van Buren, Arkansas departed this life May 1, 2015. Bud was 70 years old.
He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 3, 1944.
Bud is survived by one brother, Larry and his wife, Virginia of Mansfield, Arkansas, along with several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral will be at 10 AM Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with Reverend John Noggle officiating with burial at Gracelawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, Arkansas.
Bud grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and after graduating from Tech High School, he worked for Hiland Pastry Shop as a baker. He moved to Van Buren, Arkansas in 1973 and was co/owner of P & R Sweet Shop in Fort Smith. After the bakery closed in 1984 he went to work for Forsgren in Fort Smith. He retired from Forsgren in 2014.
Bud is preceded in death by his wife, Verdella Phipps; his parents, Doris & Lawrence Phipps; his sister and brother-in-law, JoAn & Donald Reeves.
Bud loved the outdoors, keeping care of his acreage, boating, fishing and going to the deer woods with his brother and friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Reeves, Domin Reeves, Billy Moore, Ted Phipps and Mitchell Steudeman.
Verdella
February 5, 1941 - September 30, 2009
Verdella "Dilly" Phipps 68 of Van Buren, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in her home.
She was a cake decorator at Wal-Mart, a former employee of Look Magazine in DeMoines, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Siebert and a brother, Gary Siebert.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Phipps of the home; her mother, Gladys Siebert of Cheriton, Iowa; two sisters, Marsha Clark & Jolene Siebert both of Cheriton, Iowa; one brother, Dale Siebert of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held at Ocker Chapel with Reverend George Lynn officiating. Interment was at Gracelawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Ted Phipps, Mitchell Steudeman, Chase Phipps, Cory Steudeman, Domin Reeves.
