Alice Rose Sims, age 76, of Jacksonville passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at her home. She was born May 2, 1942 in Crossett, Arkansas to the late Johnny B. Watson and Earnistine Martin Watson. Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Sims; daughter, Alicia Lee Gavito; infant daughter, Nan Alicia; and sisters, Shirley Degges, Carolyn Witcher, and Betty Mason.

Survivors include her son, Tommy Lee Sims and wife, Barbara; sisters, Peggy Thompson and Barbara Knisley and husband, Bruce “Rooster”; brothers, John B. Watson, Jr. and wife, Joan and Ronnie E. Watson and wife, Rose; grandchildren, Melanie Kuehl, Connie Sue Kuehl, Chris Gipson, Alisia Sims, Anna Sims, and Anastasia Sims; and great-grandchildren, Selina Kuehl, Mariah Gipson, and Khloe Gipson. She was loved by many friends and extended family members.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at First Assembly of God in Jacksonville with Reverend Royce Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2019 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Ray Tyson, Jeff Madden, Chris Gipson, Jim Neal, John B. Watson III, and Rodney Gatheright. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Burgess, Bobby Wayne Riles, and Terry Raymond Dougan. Arrangements are by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. (501) 982-2136.

Marvin E. Sims, age 72, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at his home. He was born October 27, 1940 in Manning, Arkansas to the late Buddy and Eva Lois Sims. Mr. Sims was employed for over 30 years with Stone Container as a pallatizer. He retired in 2002. On October 29, 1973 he married Alice Watson in North Little Rock. Marvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Alicia Gavito in 1987; three brothers, Jimmy Sims, Bill Sims and Buddy Sims Jr. He is survived by his wife, Alice Sims of Jacksonville; son and daughter in law, Tommy and Barbara Sims of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Connie and Melanie Kuehl, Alicia and Anna Rose Sims and Anastasia Sims; great grandchildren, Mariah Jaden Gipson and Selina Kuehl; three brothers, Leon and David Earl Sims, Albert "Studhorse" Sims; four sisters, Joyce Tyson, Anne Mae Elmore, Punky Florence Bullouck and Lizzy; step mother, Pearl Sims; sister-in-law, Cindy Sims. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at First Assembly of God Church with Brother Royce Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the funeral home. . Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home and Crematory. (501) 982-2136.
