Lisa Grogan, 93, of Cabot, passed from this life on Friday, July 12, 2019. She was born February 16, 1926 in Yahata City, Japan. Nabuko Kawaguchi was one of eight children born to the late Kisaku Kawaguchi and Takino Hara. Lisa became an American citizen at the age of forty-three. She loved any kind of music, especially Elvis Presley songs. She also enjoyed gardening and raised a large garden at home and at Spring Creek Health and Rehab where she had resided since 1992. Lisa enjoyed going to the casino and especially playing the slot machines. She also enjoyed playing bingo, shopping and cooking traditional egg rolls and fried rice. Lisa loved sharing her traditional recipes and would cook for the residents at Spring Creek. She had a passion for dancing, but always wanted to lead. She won two dance competitions at two of the annual Senior Olympics. Lisa was crowned 2003 Queen at Spring Creek Health and Rehab. She loved all animals, but was really partial to her cat, Micky, that lived with her at the facility for many years. Micky was Lisa's shadow. Wherever you saw one you would always see the other. Lisa retired from a career as a supervisor at Maybelline Cosmetics. She was close to few, but loved by many. Lisa will be missed and shall forever be in our hearts.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with interment following at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
