Herman K. Horne, 74 years old, of 1221 Cedar Street, Van Buren, Arkansas, was dead on arrival at Memorial hospital at 3 p.m. Monday, April 18, 1966. He was born November 27, 1882 in Paris, Arkansas and was a retired conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Board of Stewards and Men's Bible Class of the church, Fort Smith Consistory and Amrita Grotto. He was a 32nd degree Mason.

The body lay in state at the First Methodist Church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2 o'clock. The pastor, Leonard Westphal and J. T. Byrd, former pastor, officiated. Burial was in Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Bible class and Board of Stewards of the First Methodist Church, and Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.

H. K., as he was known by so many people, was the fourth man in his family to expire recently from a heart attack. He had lost three brothers, Sam Horne of Roswell, New Mexico, Cullie J. Horne of Denver, Colorado, and Bill Horne of Paris, Arkansas, and a nephew, Waldo Horne of Morrilton, Arkansas in the last 30 months.
