Frank Brewer, of Van Buren, Arkansas former County Clerk died Tuesday morning, July 27, 1971 at 7:30 a.m. in a local hospital following an apparent heart attack at 6:45 a.m. at his home.
He served as County Clerk from January 1, 1957 to December 31, 1966 and then served as deputy clerk until January 1, 1971. A native of Cedarville, Arkansas he was born January 8, 1905 to Isaac Phillip and Lou Fry Brewer and was 66 years old at the time of his death. He was a member of the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist church and Uniontown Masonic Lodge.
Survivors are his wife, Edna Carson Brewer of the home at 614 North 12th Street; three sons, Duane of Tulsa, Boyne and Wiley both of Van Buren; three brothers, Leonard of Route 2, Van Buren, Houston of Fort Smith and Dillard of Ponca City, Oklahoma; a sister Mrs. H. Howell of Uniontown; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. The pastor, Gilbert Pixley officiated assisted by Edwin Burris, pastor of the First Assembly of God church. Burial was in Gracelawn cemetery conducted by Ocker Funeral Home.
