Frances Rebecca BLEVINS MARTIN

Mountain Home Cemetery
Baxter County,
Arkansas

December 3, 1915 - August 9, 2015

Frances Rebecca Blevins Martin, age 99, was born December 3, 1915, to Don and Dula Baker Blevins at their farmhouse on the hill in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She only missed celebrating 100 years of life by three months. She was a lifetime native of Mountain Home, and dearly loved this beautiful country and community where she spent her entire life. She departed this life on Sunday, August 9, 2015. One of God's sweetest angels has sprouted her wings and flown home.
A celebration and gathering of friends and family will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Mountain Home Cemetery with Chaplain Susie Wilson of Hospice of the Ozarks officiating.
She is survived by her only child Gayla Martin Thompson and her husband Mike, who she referred to as her favorite son-in-law. She is also survived by her great granddaughter London Thompson Clement and her parents Vance and Sherrill Clement of Fayetteville, Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews.
She will always be remembered for her gentle loving spirit, positive attitude, fun sense of humor, compassion and generosity. Her gift of bright blue eyes and her beautiful smile made everyone feel better.
She was a very accomplished and creative seamstress, enjoyed art classes, designing unique button jewelry and handloom quilting. She loved music and the piano, dancing, growing flowers in her garden, fishing, and was a wonderful southern cook. She loved being a lady and her greatest pride and joy was being a loving and nurturing mother. She taught and believed honesty is always the best policy.and a cup of kindness will go a long way. She loved being outdoors on the family farm, watching the cattle graze, and sitting on her porch enjoying Mother Nature and God's beautiful gifts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her former husband James Veigh (JV) Martin, her sister-in-laws the Martin twins, Irene and Eileen Martin, a brother Jay Blevins and a sister Lucille Blevins Boyd.
We wish to recognize the wonderful loving care extended by Chad, Sharmon, Sheila, Catherine, and the staff of Good Samaritan Village. Also a special salute to Brenda and the girls at Touch of Class.
Pallbearers will be members of her family, Marvin Martin, Mark Martin, Matt Martin, Norman Jr. (JR) Martin, David Martin, Carl Shrable and Heath Shrable. Honorary pallbearers are Ron and Donna Lea Robertson Kincaid, and Hayden and Shirley Argo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Village or Arkansas State University Mountain Home.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
