Dorothy “Faye” Harris Hux of Junction City, Arkansas at the age of 94 went to her well-deserved heavenly home on November 17, 2018 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home, El Dorado, Arkansas to be with loved ones that have gone on before her but most importantly to be with her Heavenly Father Jesus Christ.

Born December 30, 1923 in Union Parish, Louisiana to Charlie and Dollie Yossett Harris, she was the oldest of seven children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lavelle Hux who died in 1985, an infant daughter, Carole, three grandchildren, Alan Hux, Melissa Hux and Donald Hux. Also one sister, Mary Lee Hux, two brothers-in-law, Clarence Hux and Wilton Stephenson and one sister-in-law, Lynn Harris.

She is survived by four children: Marvin Hux (Beverly), Kevin Hux (Kaye), Linda Love (David) and Wanda Clements (Wayne). Also five grandchildren: Jared Hux, Lori Davis, Brandie Parker, Melanie Love, and Stephanie Clements and seven great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Two brothers: Charles Harris (Lynda) and Vic Harris. Three sisters: Zelma Stephenson, Patsy Mason (Ken) and Charlene Towers (Clyde) and a host of nieces and nephews. Also, special friends, Lynda Harris, Bonnie Wood, Virginia Frisby and Janette Farrar.

As a graduate of Spearsville High School, she caught the eye of a country boy from across the state line and married Lavelle Hux on October 17, 1941. War was imminent and times were hard and uncertain. Being use to the farm life, she moved to her husband’s farm in the Olive Branch/Mt. Moriah Community near Junction City where she remained for the next 77 years.

She worked side by side with our Dad doing farm chores and in the fields to provide for their family. They raised us in a Christian home where they taught us the value of hard work and perseverance.

She was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church until it closed. She then attended Beech Grove Methodist Church near Spearsville and also Junction City United Methodist Church. She had a beautiful voice and used it to sing praises to God in the church choir. She loved her church families very much. She also loved attending the activities of Mt. Union Baptist Church’s Golden Agers and loved her friends there as well.

She was a great cook and always hosted the family get togethers of her large family. She made the best butter roll pie. She worked crossword puzzles and crypto quote books all her life and her mind stayed sharp until the angels came. She led a full, blessed life and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
