Funeral services for George Gaylon Beasley of Rt. 4, Magnolia, who died Monday in a Magnolia hospital, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Central Baptist Church with the Rev. L. L. Hunnicutt officiating. Mr. Beasley, 70, a native of Columbia County, was a retired Monsanto Chemical Co. employe. Survivors include his widow; a son, George Beasley of El Dorado; a daughter, Mrs. Lavonia Griffin of Charlotte, N.C., four sisters, Mrs. C. R. Bates of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Irene Whitlow of Magnolia, Mrs. E. A. Olson of Waldo, and Mrs. Ruth Mathes of Weatherford, Tex.; four brothers, Marvin Beasley, Smead Beasley and Chester Beasley, all of Magnolia, and Melvin Beasley of Camden; and three grandchildren. Burial was in Columbia Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia. (The El Dorado Times - July 5, 1966)
