ELKINS - Thelma J. Vaught, 88, of Elkins went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at her home.

She was born Aug. 1, 1919, in Chester, the daughter of Robert Lee and Evelyn Melissa Shepherd Russell. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton Vaught of 48 years, to whom she was married May 2, 1936, in Hazel Valley.

She was retired from Campbell-Bell Department Store and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkins.

She is survived by one son, Jim C. Vaught of Elkins; three daughters, Patsy R. Vaught of Bella Vista, Beth V. Ramsey and husband Bill of Fayetteville and Judy V. Dodson of Springdale; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7 at Moore's. Rex Griffin will officiate.

Burial will be in Vaught Cemetery at Mountainburg.

Memorials may be made to Washington Regional Hospice, 23 W. Colt Square, Suite 1, Fayetteville, 72703.

Pallbearers will be Jamey Vaught, Jason Vaught, Greg Jones, Mark Hancock, Robert Stokes and Bill Ramsey.
