Jewel Moffitt, 75, of Rose Bud died July 28, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Moffitt was born July 19, 1935 in Romance to the late Jessie Lee and Bessie Jane Moffitt.

Mr. Moffitt was a retired operator for the Matthews Factory in Searcy and attended the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He was an avid deer hunter and also enjoyed gardening. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Townsend.

Those left to cherish the memory of Mr. Moffitt are his wife, Ruth Moffitt of Rosebud, two sons, Alan Moffitt and wife Brenda of Searcy and Terry Moffitt and wife Denise of New Zealand; one step-son, David Hughes and wife Elizabeth of Beebe; two daughters, Brenda Gehring and husband Kenneth of Searcy and Debbie Moffitt of Searcy; two step-daughters, Sharon Simmons and husband Walter of Rose Bud and Dianne Ryan and husband John of Lee Summit, MO.; four brothers Arthel "Doc" Moffitt and Melvin Moffitt of Rose Bud; Elsie "L.C." Moffitt and Clayton Moffitt of Searcy; two sisters, Orean Taylor of Judsonia and Mary Harris of Searcy; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and twelve step-great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Friday July 30, 2010 from 6-8 P.M. at the Searcy-McEuen Chapel in Searcy, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be at 2 P.M. Saturday July 31, 2010 at the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Brandon officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Joy, Arkansas under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
