Velda Kathern Friel, 58, of Alma died Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in a local hospital.
She was born June 30, 1956, in Gideon, Mo.
She was a homemaker and member of Eagle Lighthouse in Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Yoestown Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; a daughter, Bethel Caldwell of Danville, Ky.; two sons, Jeffery Friel of Kingsberry, Ind., and Joseph Friel of Clever, Mo.; her mother, Martha Sims of Mulberry; a sister, Martha Jones of Mulberry; three brothers, David Sims of Mammoth Springs, Jonathan Sims of West Plains, Mo., and Darrell Sims of Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.
