Mr. George R. Whisnant, 97 of Searcy went to be with Lord Monday, May 2, 2011. He was born in Letona, Arkansas on Sunday, March 15, 1914 to the late Bruce and Willie Harrison Whisnant. In addition to his parents, Mr. Whisnant was preceded in death by his wife, Loltea Whisnant whom he dearly loved for 75 years. He was a retired farmer and served His Lord by singing in the Pickens Chapel Quartet for many years.
Mr. Whisnant is survived by his two children, Linza Whisnant (Evelyn) of Sherwood, Lavern Hughes (Elton) of Searcy; two grandchildren, David Whisnant (Linda) of Vilonia, Bonnie Maddox (John) of Conway; four great grandchildren, Kristen Pucik (David)of Littleton, Colorado, Katelynn Whisnant, Jay Maddox, Tyler Maddox all of Conway; other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Pickens Chapel Nazarene Church with interment at the Pickens Chapel Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials may be made to the Pickens Chapel Nazarene Church in memory of Mr. Whisnant.

Loleta Jewell Whisnant, age 89, of Searcy, died Saturday, November 3, 2007.
She was born Saturday, December 1, 1917 in Vilonia, Arkansas to Bill and Ola Daniel Evatt.
She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years George Whisnant; one daughter Laverne Hughes and husband Elton of Searcy; one son Linza Whisnant and wife Evelyn of North Little Rock; one granddaughter Bonnie Mattox and husband John of Conway; one grandson David Whisnant and wife Linda of Vilonia; two great grandsons Jay and Tyler Mattox of Conway; two great granddaughters Kristen and Katelynn Whisnant of Vilonia; two sisters Juanita Shell of Searcy and Avinell Childers and husband Horace of Sidon; and one brother W.C. Evatt and wife Louise of Pickens Chapel along with a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
