ORDWAY, Colo. — Betty Zimmerman Hutchens, born Aug. 1, 1932, in Ordway, Colo., to Joseph and Ruby Shafer Zimmerman, passed away Nov. 2, 2007, at her home of 42 years in Fayetteville.
She moved to Arkansas as a child along with her mother and several of her 12 siblings and settled in Pretty Girl Holler on Sugar Mountain outside of Brentwood. She married Robert "Glen" Lee Hutchens on March 4, 1949, in West Fork. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Loren, Glen, Nolan, Buddy; one sister, Darlene Littrell.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Dunsworth and husband Alan, Glenda Hamby and Brenda Hutchens, all of Fayetteville; two brothers, Donald Zimmerman of Springdale and Gary Zimmerman of Pueblo, Colo.; five sisters, Faye Karstetter of Good Year, Ariz., Doris Norris of Quincy, Ill., June Weatherly of Albuquerque, N.M., Lora Jean Porter and Shirley Mills of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; Jason, Justin, Jennifer Hamby and Andrew Dunsworth; and six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Devan, Tressa, Tyler, Adam and Haelen.
She loved life and had many interests. She was a great seamstress, a homemaker and a member of North Street Church of Christ. She loved life and was loved by many. The world has lost the joy of her presence and heaven has a new alto voice in their choir.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at North Street Church of Christ. Burial will be in Brentwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Moore's Chapel.
Paul Woodhouse will officiate. Memorials maybe made to Mount Comfort Road Church of Christ Building Fund, c/o North Street Church of Christ, 764 West North St., Fayetteville.
