*When Vernon Franklin Edwards was born on May 21, 1916, in Judsonia, Arkansas, his father, Andrew, was 41 and his mother, Harriett, was 37. He married Melda Myrtle Corbin on May 16, 1935. They had five children during their marriage. He died on September 5, 1995, in his hometown at the age of 79, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
