Barbara Jean Freeman
June 9, 1944 - October 31, 2021
Barbara Jean Beshires Freeman, 77 of Poughkeepsie passed away October 31, 2021, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born June 9, 1944, in Osceola; daughter of the late, Leonard Beshires and Alice Perkins Conatser.
She was united in marriage to Clyde Freeman on December 11, 1960.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, factory worker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed canning, knitting, quilting, collecting porcelain dolls and animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Freeman; two sisters, Patsy Smith and Joyce Jackson.
Survivors include five children, Alice Brownlee (Curtis) of Jonesboro, Barbara Elrod (Charles) of Brownsville, TN, Clyde Freeman (Elizabeth), Dottie Reed (Mike), and Elanie Harvey all of Poughkeepsie; four brothers, Scott (Betty), Tony (Shelia), Leonard (Phylana) and Sammy Beshires; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and her stepmother, Mary Beshires of Brownsville, TN; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 11 A.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Rev. Shelia Beshires officiating.
Pallbearers will be Thomas, Jonathan and Randall Elrod, Camron Harvey, Jeff Freeman and T.J. Dotson. Honorary Pallbearers are Thax Armstrong and Tyler Freeman.
Interment will follow in the McAdams Cemetery near Calamine.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. till 11 A.M. Thursday.
