Hattie Christine (Jones) Lynn, 92, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at The Oaks at North Pointe Woods in Battle Creek, MI. Hattie Christine was born June 12, 1916 in Augusta, Arkansas to Alberta Smith and John Henry Jones. She was raised by her mother and step-father: Williams Moore, who has passed away. She was one of seven children, sisters: Alma, Loraine, and Russell, brothers: William, Robert, Lewis and Edwina, are all deceased. Hattie attended the Augusta school system. At the age of 19 she left home to see the world, and that she did. In 1946 she married Mr. Tyree Lynn in St. Louis, MO. On May 13, 1950, Rosie Irene was born, and thirteen months later she was adopted by Hattie and Tyree, which made their marriage complete. She lived to see the first African American, Barack Obama, to be elected President of these United States. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and all brothers and sisters, and special daughter, Gloria Dixon. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Rosie (Lee) Davis; grandsons, Troy and Quincy, all of Battle Creek, MI; special daughter, Donnie (Tommy) Burch of Battle Creek; special grandchildren, James (Rochelle) Burch of Battle Creek, Christine (Henry) Sapp of Grand Rapids, Tammy Burch of Clarksville, TN, Vincent (Alicia) and Roderick Christian of Battle Creek; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Monday from 4- 8 p.m. and the family will be present Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12:00 Noon in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Craig Tatum of First Salem Missionary Baptist Church officiating and Minister Gary Browning in Arkansas. Burial and graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Mason Cemetery in Augusta, AR. Memorial tributes may be made to American Cancer Society or First Salem Baptist Church.
